An Ida Grove woman was found guilty today (Friday) on a bench trial for the death of her three-year-old child back in May 2023. According to Ida County District Court records, 24-year-old Billie Rose Mosier of Ida Grove was found guilty of one count of child endangerment resulting in death, a class B felony, after Ida County Emergency Medical Services responded to the 500 block of Maple Street in Battle Creek for the report of an unresponsive child. The boy was rushed to Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove and then transported to Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha, Neb., but died the next day due to injuries sustained. An investigation led by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the Ida County Sheriff’s Office, and the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner found that Moiser’s actions directly contributed to the boy’s death. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for May 5. Moiser faces a maximum sentence of up to 25 years in prison.
