This weekend marks the 79th annual Farm Festival in Wall Lake, and organizers are excited to welcome some huge crowds to the community during the celebration. Farm Festival Co-Chair Brandon Aschinger says they kick off the fun tomorrow (Friday), beginning at 5 p.m.
Most of the activities are based around the center of downtown, including the beer garden, which opens at 6 p.m. The petting zoo and carnival rides begin at 5 p.m. and live entertainment from a magician, Jonathan May starts at 7:30 p.m. Aschinger says they pick up the pace on Saturday, running from 7 a.m. to at least 10 p.m.
The Wall Lake Farm Festival has long been the community’s largest annual event, but Aschinger says it has really grown in the last decade or so.
He credits the many volunteers and organizers who help make the Farm Festival run. Aschinger says the forecast looks nearly perfect for the event, with high temperatures reaching only into the 70s on Friday and Saturday. A full schedule of this weekend’s Farm Festival events is included below.
