The 58-year-old swimming pool on the east side of Wall Lake is getting a makeover after months of planning and preparation to get the project started. City Clerk, Chris Rodman, says the years have not been kind to the pool and is glad the renovation has begun.
The cost estimate for these repairs is $100,000, but Rodman says it will not cost the city anything close to that amount.
The city has contracted ACCO Unlimited to perform the repairs, and they also provide the chemicals to keep the pool running. Rodman is sure the project will be completed on time, according to the company.
Some of the construction work has already started, and the pool is planned to be ready for the summer season. Structurally, the pool will not be getting any new additions, but the pool may be getting a new liner for aesthetic purposes. The city has not yet set the specifics for that aspect of the pool project.
