Work at the Carroll County Courthouse moves to the main level this week, and services will be impacted as the various offices shift into their new spaces. The district court will begin its transition on Thursday, Oct. 12, and the Clerk of Courts office will be closed. The main floor offices, including the Carroll County Treasurer’s, Assessor’s Auditor’s, and Reporter’s Offices, are moving on Friday and Saturday. As a result, county officials have decided to close the entire courthouse on Friday. The courthouse will reopen Monday, Oct. 16. The north entrance will be closed for several months while work on the main floor is underway. Residents needing to enter the courthouse are asked to use the south or east doors when entering the building. Additionally, the supervisors’ meeting room will be unusable during this period, so the Carroll County Board of Supervisors has moved the regular weekly meetings to the Swan Lake Conservation Education Center until the project is complete.
