The Storm Lake Police Department reports a suspect was taken into custody this week after an investigation revealed a series of sexual assaults against a teenage victim. According to law enforcement, 22-year-old Keichiro Chipiuo of Storm Lake is accused of having unlawful sexual contact with the 16-year-old victim on at least three occasions between August 2022 and February 2023 at a residence in Storm Lake. Chipiuo was booked into the Buena Vista County jail on three counts of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, an aggravated misdemeanor, and held on a $2,000 bond. The Iowa Department of Human Services (HHS) and MercyOne Child Advocacy Center also assisted in the investigation.
