Debbie Thomas, age 69 of Sac City, IA, passed away on August 24, 2022, at home surrounded by family.
Deborah Lynn was born on April 8, 1953, to parents Kenny and Sally (Moss) Eigenheer at Adair County Hospital in Greenfield, IA.  She was the oldest of three children.  She was baptized in Orient, IA and attended Otis Chapel.  Debbie graduated from Orient-Macksburg High School in 1971.
Debbie was united in marriage to Arnold Thomas on July 22, 1973, at the Orient Methodist Church.  This union was blessed with three children: Stacey, Michael, and Stephanie.
Debbie was a voracious reader, Iowa State Cyclone fan, loved singing, playing instruments, painting and traveling.  Just after high school graduation, she toured Europe with an Honor Choir singing in multiple countries.  She and Arnie loved traveling, especially when accompanied by grandchildren.  Over 70 National parks were visited and many beautiful vacations were experienced.  You could always find her cheering on her children or grandchildren at events, games, and meets no matter the location or time.  Debbie, a great humanitarian, fostered 55 children over the course of two decades.  Debbie worked many jobs in her career, but her most cherished was being known as the “church lady”.
Debbie was a loyal Iowa State fan so feel free to dress casual and wear Iowa State clothing.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 49 years Arnold of Sac City;  children: Michael (Amy) Thomas of Blue Springs, MO and Stephanie (Bruce) Mohr of Sac City, IA; sister: Julie (Doug) Westphal of Fontenelle, IA; grandchildren: Brooks, Maximus, Dexter Thomas of Blue Springs, MO, Shyla, Savannah, Logan Mohr of Sac City, IA; Jonna (Tim) Rohrbaugh of Sutherland, IA, Keaton Rohrbaugh of Iowa City, IA and Karter (Taylor) Rohrbaugh of Lincoln, NE, all of whom Debbie considered family; many other extended family members and friends.
