Ronald Heisterkamp of Georgia, formerly of Breda

A Memorial Mass for 80-year-old, Ronald Joseph Heisterkamp will be held at 10:30am on Friday, May 6, 2022 at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church with Father John Koziol, OFM Conv. officiating.
Born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and raised in Breda, Iowa, Ron (or Ronnie as his family called him) was born on May 9, 1941. Growing up he was active in his local church and played sports. Upon graduating from high school, Ron enlisted in the United States Air Force. While stationed at Patrick AFB, in Florida, he met Mary Jane, who became the love of his life. Ron and Mary Jane were married on December 18, 1965. The remained married for 48 years, until her passing in 2013. Ron enjoyed spending his free time fishing and perfecting his secret BBQ chicken and garlic potatoes recipe.
Ron was active with the American Legion Post 258 in Jonesboro, Georgia. Through the years, Ron volunteered his time with the American Legion and also served as an officer in several capacities. “Ron and Mary Jane” spent many enjoyable evenings at the American Legion where they met and made many lifelong friends.
Ron is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Heisterkamp; his parents, Edgar and Dorothy Heisterkamp; and his siblings: Charlotte, Donna, Donald, Edward and Ralph Heisterkamp.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Virginia Dulaney of Davenport, Florida; his son, Gary J. Heisterkamp of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; his sister, Marilyn Babe of Breda, Iowa; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
