After about a week of delays, Audubon County officials have reopened the Nighthawk Avenue bridge northeast of Exira to motor vehicle traffic. The nearly mile-long segment of road between 270th and 280th Streets was closed Jan. 11 to allow crews to complete repairs to the bridge spanning Honey Creek. The project was originally slated to conclude on Jan. 24, but was delayed by a week due to unfavorable weather conditions on several occasions. The road is now open to thru-traffic, and officials thank motorists for their patience for the duration of the project.
