Rear-End Collision Wednesday Causes More Than $6,000 In Damages

More than $6,000 in damages was reported in a rear-end collision Wednesday. The Jefferson Police Department responded to the scene in the 300 block of West Lincoln Way Street at approximately 9:24 a.m. Upon arrival, they learned Regan Williams of Jefferson was driving a 2021 Ford Escape owned by McLaughlin Motors of Coon Rapids and was stopped for traffic near the Elm Street stop sign. She was struck from behind by Junior Aguilar Gutierres of Jefferson, who was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox. The Escape suffered an estimated $1,500 in damages while the Aguilar Gutierres vehicle had an estimated $5,000 in damages. Aguilar Gutierres was cited for failure to stop within an assured clear distance ahead.
