A Carroll man arrested in October for vandalizing a car has pled guilty to a reduced charge and was sentenced Thursday. According to Carroll County District Court records, 21-year-old Kaleb Joshua Reiter was originally charged with third-degree criminal mischief, an aggravated misdemeanor, after he caused approximately $1,285 in damage to a vehicle parked in the 400 block of E. 6th Street during the early morning hours of Oct. 27. As part of the plea agreement, Reiter pled guilty to fifth-degree criminal mischief, a simple misdemeanor, and was order to pay over $600 in fines, surcharges, court costs and attorney fees. Reiter will also be required to pay restitution to the victim in an amount to be determined at a Jan. 21 hearing.
