The Greene County Sheriff’s Office reports two Fort Dodge residents were arrested early this (Tuesday) morning in the midst of a burglary in progress. At approximately 5:22 a.m., law enforcement responded to the scene in the 500 block of N Avenue, about five miles east of Churdan, and arrested 48-year-old Robert Olson and 48-year-old Monica Volquartsen. Olson has been charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony, possession of burglary tools, an aggravated misdemeanor, first-offense trespassing, a simple misdemeanor. Volquartsen faces the same counts, but the burglary charge was reduced from second-degree to third-degree, a class D felony. Both suspects were booked into the Greene County Jail, where they remained as of Tuesday morning, awaiting an appearance before a magistrate.
