The Maintenance Department at Stewart Memorial Hospital and Clinics has received the organization’s second-quarter Team Award for its work on the recently completed Pod D remodel. The department was nominated by staff who work in the pod for its role in transforming the space into a functional and welcoming environment for patients and staff. Maintenance staff assisted with a wide range of tasks throughout the project, including assembling furniture, installing locks, and addressing any unexpected challenges. In the nomination form, one staff member wrote, “Every single member of the Maintenance Department played a meaningful role in this project. Quite simply, we would not have the space we have today without their hard work and commitment.” Hospital leaders added that the team demonstrated professionalism, technical expertise, and attention to detail throughout the remodel. Their willingness to handle both large and small requests helped ensure the completed space met the project’s vision. Additionally, the hospital will host a community open house on May 8 to celebrate the renovation and expansion of mental health services. That event will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the facility at 1351 W. Main St. in Lake City.
