The Stewart Memorial Auxiliary has donated $27,955 to support the hospital’s obstetrics department, reaching the support group’s initial fundraising goal. This latest contribution was raised during the auxiliary’s annual Trivia Night fundraiser held Feb. 21. The funds will help support enhanced patient care, updated resources, and expanded services for mothers and newborns receiving care at Stewart Memorial Hospital and Clinics. The auxiliary originally pledged to raise at least $48,000 for the department, and that amount has now been surpassed. Auxiliary members have long supported the hospital through volunteer service and fundraising, which have benefited many of the Lake City-based hospital’s recent expansion and improvement efforts. According to Stewart Memorial leadership, the donation will help strengthen maternity care for families in the region while ensuring patients can receive services close to home.
