As Easter approaches, a new WalletHub survey suggests the holiday may bring financial stress to some Americans. According to the new report from the personal finance company, about one in four people believe Easter will not be affordable this year. The company’s Easter survey also found that nearly one in three Americans does not feel confident about their finances heading into the spring, reflecting broader concerns about household budgets. Despite those worries, projected holiday spending remains high. WalletHub estimates Americans will spend about $25 billion on Easter-related purchases in 2026, averaging $196 per person celebrating. Candy alone is expected to account for $3.5 billion of that total. Other interesting survey responses found that about 77 percent of Americans eat chocolate bunnies starting with the ears; 51 percent of respondents argue the Easter bunny should be doling out cash instead of candy; and 14 percent of Easter baskets are expected to contain Peeps.
