A substantial crack sealing project began today (Monday) in Audubon County. Crews are conducting crack sealing operations, which are projected to last approximately two weeks, with a tentative end date of Monday, April 13. The project involves crack-sealing maintenance on approximately 30 miles of roadway to extend pavement life and prevent further deterioration. Work is planned on several routes across the county, including portions of Highway F58 west of Exira from U.S. Highway 71 to Zinnia Road near the Audubon/Shelby County line. Crews will also work on Highway F32 from U.S. Highway 71 east to Swift Avenue at the Audubon/Guthrie County line. Additional maintenance will occur on Highway F16 between the city of Gray and U.S. Highway 71, and on Highway N36 from County Highway F32 north to 100th Street near the Audubon/Carroll County line. Drivers should expect temporary traffic control measures and possible delays while crews are working. At times, traffic will be reduced to one lane in active construction areas. As always, motorists should slow down and use caution when traveling in and around work zones. Additional questions about this work can be directed to the Audubon County Road Department at 712-563-4286.
