Bidding opens today (Saturday) for New Hope’s 16th biennial Charity Quilt Auction, scheduled for April 11 at the Carrollton Centre. The fundraiser supports services and programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities from around the region. The lead-up to the auction begins with an online silent auction opening Saturday, allowing supporters to bid on quilts and specialty items remotely. The silent auction will run for two weeks until the day of the main event. New Hope will host an afternoon open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on April 11, allowing visitors to preview quilts and auction items for a free-will offering. Doors for the evening event open at 4:30 p.m., with a catered meal followed by the live auction. Evening-only admission begins at 6:30 p.m. Items in the live auction include handmade quilts, golf outings, sports memorabilia, and specialty liquor collections, along with catered experiences and event tickets. Organizers are accepting additional quilts and auction donations through April 3. Proceeds will support New Hope’s services and programs. Tickets are available for $30 per person for the full event or $10 per person for the evening only. Secure your admission and bid early at www.newhopevillage.org.
