CCSD Board Of Education Holding FY27 Proposed Property Tax Rate Public Hearing Prior To Regular Board Meeting This Wednesday

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education will be holding the monthly meeting on Wednesday this week, opening with a public hearing for the proposed property tax levy rate for Fiscal Year (FY) 2027. The public hearing will begin at 5 p.m. at Adams Elementary School in the board’s conference room. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau encourages all district residents with questions or concerns to attend. After closing that public hearing, the board will begin the second meeting, with another public hearing for the 2026-27 school year calendar.

The recommendation from the previous board meeting was that CCSD administration would dismiss students 90-minutes early every Friday for staff to participate in professional development. Berlau says the board will then hear a presentation from FFA students and discuss the district’s facilities plan with DLR Architect.

The board will then review and approve agreements, fundraisers, and job descriptions for Riding on Another Road (ROAR) program teacher and a new position Berlau says the district will need for pursuing the new behavior program.

Action items include agreement with the Carroll Education Association (CEA) on wage and benefits negotiations, several projects across the facilities, before Berlau says moving into a discussion on looking into the possibility of the district offering a three-year-old preschool program.

The meeting will wrap up with budget updates from the district’s business office and a routine closed session for a superintendent evaluation. Again, the CCSD Board of Education meeting will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) starting at 5 p.m. at Adams Elementary, the public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
