The East Sac County (ESC) School District is proposing an approximate 12 cent decrease in Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 property tax levy rate, with the public hearing scheduled for Thursday morning. For the next fiscal year, district officials are proposing a maximum tax rate of $11.48172 per $1,000 of assessed taxable valuation, for total levied dollars equaling $6,581,527, which is a 6.94 percent increase from FY26. The reason behind the increase is due to the Voter approved Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (VPPEL) increasing .34 cents to $1.34, which was approved by district residents last November, and increases in property insurance premiums in the management fund.
