The Carroll County Board of Supervisors will host two meetings coming up on Monday morning. The first meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the courthouse’s lower level and is solely dedicated to the public hearing on the county’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 proposed property tax levy. County officials are proposing an “urban rate” of $3.89887 per $1,000 of taxable assessed valuation, with a “rural rate”, which includes the general basic, rural basic, debt services, and supplemental levies, of $7.64589. The public hearing allows residents to present any concerns or questions to county officials regarding the FY27 levy or budget. The supervisors will then close the first meeting and open a second, routine one at 9:15 a.m. That agenda includes a public hearing on a hog confinement permit adjustment in Section 1 of Washington Township north of Halbur, secondary roads contracts for proposed bridge replacements, an update from new Carroll County Growth Partnership (CCGP) Executive Director Adam Schweers on the economic development organizations latest activities, the setting of a public hearing date for the overall FY27 Budget, and consideration of early voting procedures in the courthouse. Monday’s meetings are open to the public and will be live-streamed via the county’s YouTube channels. Links to the agendas and video are included below.
