South Central Calhoun (SCC) Board of Education and Administration is looking for parent and community feedback regarding potential grade configuration throughout the district. For the past several months, the board explored long-term facilities planning, looking for the most feasible outcome to continue to meet the operational and developmental needs of students. The board did vote not to pursue construction of a new building. By using the current facilities with the resources the district has, a proposal to move the fourth-grade classes has been brought to the table. Presently, the fourth-grade level is in the middle school building in Rockwell City, with fifth through eighth grade students. It is being considered to move the fourth graders to the elementary building, which is located just across town. No decision has been made, but the board elected to send out a survey gain stakeholders’ perspective. The deadline to complete the survey is on March 20, and a link to access it can be found included below.
