The Odebolt Community Foundation is starting up a campaign fundraiser to fund the construction of a new building for three businesses to reside on Main Street. Foundation President Makenzee Daye Reik says the organization has been having discussions for a while now, trying to think of more ways to entice business to the community. What started out as fixing a run-down building has now transitioned to starting completely over in an open space.
Reik says not only is the 75’ by 100’ building going to fill a vacant lot on Main Street, but the Odebolt Community Foundation is hoping to provide a physical space and financial incentive to encourage businesses to open up.
The fundraising campaign, “Legacies on Main Street” will help to raise money to construct the new building, but Reik says will also add to the beautification of Main Street right in from of the new proposed structure.
All proceeds will go toward the Odebolt Community Foundation’s goal to raise $220,000. Reik says order forms can be picked up at Sunrise Coffee or Closet Collective, with checks made payable to Odebolt Community Foundation. She says online ordering can be completed as well, with the link included below. Deadline to order through the brick fundraiser in June 30. Reik says if unable to order a brick at this time, the best way you can help is by sharing the efforts with others.
Riek invites all to follow the project and fundraising efforts for updates on the Odebolt Community Foundation’s Facebook page. She is hopefully to reach the goal through this campaign and have construction be completed before the end of this year.
