A Grand Junction man remains in custody for allegedly messaging sexual content to a teenage girl. According to Shelby County District Court records, 33-year-old Jacob Nolan Stouwie of Grand Junction was taken into custody over the weekend after an arrest warrant was issued when a 15-year-old female from Harlan reported Stouwie had sent messages to her, convincing to engage in sexual activity with him and sent explicit pictures of himself. Stouwie is facing charges of grooming, a class D felony, and three counts of dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to minors, all serious misdemeanors. He is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail with a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 24 at the Shelby County Courthouse. If convicted of the charges, Stouwie can face a maximum sentence of up to eight years in prison and over $17,000 in fines.
