Carroll High School’s (CHS) Jay McNelly and Kuemper Catholic High School’s (KHS) Sophie Christensen have been chosen to perform at the Iowa High School Speech Association’s (IHSSA) Individual Events All-State Festival. The pair earned their invitations following their top-tier performances at the association’s regional state contest in Denison this past weekend. McNelly earned her spot in the poetry category, while Christensen earned hers in solo musical theatre. They will join dozens of the state’s best high school speech performers at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) campus in Cedar Falls on March 30 to showcase their talents.
