While the June primaries are still about three months away, the Carroll County Board of Supervisors is already preparing for what may be one of the busier primary contests in recent memory. The supervisors meet on Monday morning at 9 a.m., and their primary item of business will be the consideration of early voting sites. Following the completion of the Carroll County Courthouse’s renovations and reorganization several years ago, county officials have identified several bottlenecks for voters. The Auditor’s Office moved from the west side of the main entrance to the east side during that transition, and while the transition has been helpful for staff in many ways, it has led to space and privacy challenges for early voters at the county if more than two or three people are trying to cast their ballots at the same time. The supervisors will consider reopening the office’s west counter and identifying an area for overflow voters to fill out their ballots. Other agenda items for Monday include the approval of contracts through the Secondary Roads Department for gravel contracts and diamond grinding projects on Delta and Granite Avenues, drainage district repairs, manure management annual updates, and committee reports. Monday’s meeting is open to the public and will be live-streamed via the county’s YouTube channel. Links to the video and agenda are included with this story on our website.
