An interactive agriculture mobile classroom will be traveling to schools in the listening area over the next two weeks, providing a hands-on learning opportunity for students on how plants grow and where food comes from. The Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation (IALF) is hosting the Seed Survivor Mobile Classroom through Nutrien, with third and fourth grade students rotating through stations of interactive displays on how to grow healthy plants, virtual reality learning games, seed planting stations and presentations that connect agriculture to food and everyday life. Iowa is only one of three states selected, and the mobile classroom will visit Carroll and Crawford County schools next week, with Sac and Ida County the following week on March 24, 26-27. IALF Executive Director Kelly Foss says “Agriculture provides real-world context for science and other core subjects students are learning in the classroom. When students step inside the Seed Survivor classroom, science comes to life. They see how Iowa agriculture impacts their daily lives while building curiosity about plant science and future careers.” The schedule for week five in Crawford and Carroll County can be found included below.
