Landus Cooperative recently announced grants to more than 40 first-responder departments in the communities they serve, including multiple here in the listening area. Through Landus’ core grant program, fire departments and emergency medical services (EMS) can apply for funding to support their operations, including equipment purchases, additional training opportunities, or just keeping the lights on. Agencies receiving grants in the 2026 cycle include the Glidden, Ralston, Bayard, Grand Junction, and Rockwell City Fire Departments. In a press release announcing the awards, Landus staff say, “Supporting rural vitality is a core principle of the cooperative model. Strong emergency services help keep our communities safe, resilient, and positioned to thrive for current and future generations. Thank you to the dedicated volunteers and professionals who step up every day to serve and protect our rural citizens. Your commitment does not go unnoticed.”
