A structure fire caused significant damage to mobile home at the Carroll Community Estates Monday morning. The call came in just before 10:50 a.m. for a mobile home engulfed in flames on the west side of the park. Carroll Police Department were first on scene and safely assisted in evacuating the residents from the home and neighboring structures. The Carroll Fire Department arrived a few minutes later at approximately 10:53 a.m. to find smoke and flames inside the home. Crews battled the blaze for approximately 40 minutes, extinguished the flames, then checked for hot spots. According to Fire Chief Dan Hannasch, the cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, but no injuries or damage to neighboring homes were reported. Damage to the structure was significant and it has been deemed a total loss. The Carroll Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Carroll Police Department, Carroll County EMS, and the Carroll County Communications Center.
