The St. Anthony Foundation has announced the creation of the Peggy White Spirit of Leadership Legacy Award to honor individuals who demonstrate faith-inspired leadership and service across west-central Iowa. The award, announced Thursday, is named in memory of Peggy White, who passed away in 2024, and is intended to recognize community members whose leadership reflects compassion, collaboration, and a commitment to strengthening local communities. White played a long-standing role in supporting health care and community initiatives in the region. She served on the board of directors for St. Anthony Regional Hospital and Nursing Home from 2013 to 2024 and was involved with the foundation from 2014 to 2024. She was also a founding member of St. Anthony Ministries when it was formed in 2018. St. Anthony Foundation Director Sarah Foley says, “This award is about honoring leaders who not only make a difference, but who inspire others to do the same. Peggy White’s legacy lives on in the individuals who continue to serve with compassion, courage, and commitment to our rural communities.” Nominees for the award should demonstrate measurable community impact, ethical leadership, and a dedication to improving the well-being of rural communities. Applications and nominations are due April 10, and awardees will receive $5,000 to further their charitable efforts. Details about the award criteria and nomination forms are included below.
