CCSD Board Of Education Will Hear From Two Middle School Organziations, Discuss Facility Plan Plus More During Work Session Thursday

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education will continue with negotiations, review certified budget plus more during work session this upcoming Thursday. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. at Adams Elementary School with the opening offer to the Carroll Education Support Association (CESA). CESA presented its opening offer to board members during the Feb. 19 meeting but CCSD administration decided to wait to review their offer. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau says the board will then hear two presentations on two middle school organizations.

Berlau says following the presentations will be continued discussion on the district’s facilities plan.

The rest of the meeting will consist of a closed session per Iowa Code 21.5(1)(a) to review or discuss records which are required or authorized by state or federal law to be kept confidential or to be kept confidential as a condition for the possession or continued receipt of federal funds. Out of closed session, the board will consider approval of an agreement regarding a specific student discipline and wrap up with an exempt session to strategize for negotiations. The CCSD Board of Education work session is open to the public and will begin at 5 p.m. Berlau also wants to note that there will be no school on Monday, March 9 due to the boys’ basketball team advancing to the State Tournament, playing against Pella High School at the Casey’s Center in Des Moines. He encourages all students, staff and families that have the opportunity to pack the stands and cheer on the Tigers.
