Carroll High School (CHS) and Kuemper Catholic High School (KHS) are sending more than two dozen entries to the Iowa High School Speech Association (IHSSA) state event following the district contests. Thirteen CHS students earned their spots by receiving a “I,” or excellent, rating from the district judges. KHS is sending 14 students to the next round of competition. Kuemper Catholic hosted the IHSSA district event on Saturday. The students advancing to state will perform at the Denison-Schleswig High School in Denison on March 14. Top performers there are eligible for invites to the IHSSA Individual Events All-State Festival in Cedar Falls at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) at the end of the month.
