The Sac City Chamber of Commerce celebrated the community this past weekend with its annual meeting and presenting of the awards for individuals and business who promote the vitality of Sac City. Chamber Executive Director Crystal Hanrahan says 2025 was a big year, welcoming five new businesses, remodeling or relocating of several current businesses, awarding over $36,000 to an individual through Chase the Ace, investing $41,000 back into the community around Christmas time for the annual Sno-Dough initiative, plus a lot of creative artwork with four murals and the 75 manhole covers painted in a competition that caught attention nationwide and internationally. She says none of this could have been possible without all the help from the community, especially city officials, the 2025 Sac City Superstar Doug Shull and Volunteers of the Year, Tom and Steph Crabb, who continuously went above and beyond to help out at all the events and promotions through the Chamber. Business of the Year went to Indian Lanes and the Ross family, for the undertaking of bringing the bowling alley staple back into existence in the community. Hanrahan says Sac City displayed such momentum during 2025, moving forward with such visible progress that she is proud of everything accomplished and looks forward to 2026 and seeing what this year will have to offer.
