Significant damage reported in a car versus tractor accident west of Audubon last week. According to the Audubon County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, a 2001 Honda Civic operated by 23-year-old Eduardo Jose Ramos Rivera of South Sioux City, Neb. was traveling eastbound on 190th Street when it collided with a 2009 John Deere Tractor, driven by 24-year-old Trevor Gallagher of Manning. The Ramos Rivera vehicle received approximately $8,000 worth of damages while the tractor sustained around $15,000 in damages. Injuries remain unknown, but an air ambulance was requested. Ramos Rivera was cited for no valid driver’s license and speeding, 11-15 over, and Gallagher was cited for failure to yield half of roadway. The Audubon County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Audubon Fire and Rescue, Audubon County Emergency management, UnityPoint LifeFlight and the Iowa State Patrol at the scene.
