Iowa Fuel Report: Feb. 11, 2026

Gas prices edged slightly higher in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Feb. 11, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $2.54, up four cents on the week but 42 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday rose five cents to $2.94 per gallon. As for Iowa retail diesel, prices rose to an average of $3.45 per gallon, eight cents higher than last week and only three cents below 2025’s average price at this point in the year. Local diesel prices remain 22 cents below the national average of $3.67. Prices at the Des Moines Terminal stood at $1.60 for E10, $1.83 for Unleaded 87, $2.35 for ULSD #2, $2.64 for ULSD #1, and $1.74 for E70. As for heating fuels, propane prices rose by one cent to $1.63 per gallon, and home heating oil climbed by two cents to $2.94 per gallon. Natural gas prices were the only category to see a decline, falling 32 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site to $3.15 per MMBtu.
