CHS Foundation Is “Going For Gold” For Annual Kindness Fundraising Campaign

Update– As of Thursday afternoon, over $15,000 has been raised.

The Carroll High School (CHS) Foundation is “Going Gold for Kindness” for this year’s 2026 annual fundraiser. On Feb. 10th, the campaign kicked off to raise $50,000 by Feb. 20, while promoting acts of kindness among students, staff, and community members. New foundation board member Sara Hamilton says they went with an Olympic theme to coincide with the Winter Olympics going on in Italy and have several days scheduled with fun activities for the students.

Hamilton says there will be incentives for students and staff members who are caught in the act of promoting kindness throughout the district.

Alongside with the kindness acts, the CHS Foundation is also raising money to finance materials, experiences and other things that are not covered in the general fund through the district. Carroll Middle School Special Education teacher Keli Ballantine says she is so thankful for the CHS Foundation as it helped to fund a real-life experience for her students.

In just two days, the CHS Foundation has raised over $6,000 toward their $50,000 fundraising goal. Anyone that is wanting to donate can mail a check to the foundation at PO Box 314 Carroll Iowa, 51401 or online using the link included below. Again, help support the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) and promote “Going Gold for Kindness” with this year’s CHS Foundation fundraiser.
