Audubon native, Hannah Thygesen, was one of 20 recruits that graduated from the 53rd Department of Public Safety (DPS) Basic Academy and has been assigned to District Five based out of Cherokee. A graduate from Audubon High School in 2022, Thygesen attended Buena Vista University, earning a degree in criminal justice and psychology. Growing up in a family of first responders and experiencing first had helping others with recovery in Greenfield after a tornado helped inspire her to choose a career of community service and making a positive impact on everyday life. Thygensen has been assigned to District Five, serving Cherokee, Plymouth, Buena Vista, Woodbury, Ida, and Sac County.
