St. Anthony Foundation Receives $1 Million From McLaughlins For New PET/CT Scanner

The St. Anthony Foundation recently received a generous $1 million donation from Carroll residents, Mike and Amy McLaughlin for the purchase of a new PET/CT scanner to be installed at the hospital. In Oct. 2025, the St. Anthony Foundation set a goal to raise $1.3 million, to purchase the new scanner, allowing for patients to receive advanced imaging in-house for a faster diagnoses time frame and keeping medical care close to home. When asked about the donation, the McLaughlins shared that they have family and friends who benefit from St. Anthony’s Cancer Center, making this donation meaningful and personal to give back in support of the foundation’s mission. Through it’s Voices of Hope campaign, a $10,000 donation from Van Meter Inc, and private contributions, the foundation has raised over $1.4 million, that will purchase the scanner. Foundation Director Sarah Foley says “We were blown away by the McLaughlins’ generosity. This was a welcome surprise and the perfect way to end the year. This donation puts us over the top in funding for the PET/CT scanner — we’re thrilled to have reached our goal for this critical piece of equipment. We truly have the best donors!” To date, the foundation is still looking to raise an additional $1.3 million that will be used to construct and create a space for the scanner to be installed and operated at the hospital. Donations can be made online or directed to Foley. Details on that can be found included below.
