Lake View City Council Discusses Summer Positions And Additional Staff During Monday’s Council Meeting

The Lake View City Council reviewed and discussed plans for additional summer staff during Monday’s city council meeting. With summer being a busy season up in Lake View, especially at the campground, City Administrator Jalonna Ehler was looking for council approval to start advertising for part-time or temporary staff. Councilmember Jim Jensen asked if they were going to offer the position for campground host again and described what the job entails for the new council members.

Jensen says it’s a great benefit for the City of Lake View without any significant costs.

Council showed support and indicated to reach out to hosts from last season but will advertise if they pass on the position this year. Ehler also brought up another concern with staffing, but this was over the winter months.

Ehler says a lot of individuals and cleaning companies are not fond of the weekend and night hours that would be required for the paid cleaning job. Most of the time it would be Saturday night after an event, prior to Sunday when the next celebration is scheduled. Council says they will ask around and see if they could find someone that is interested in it. Ehler says she just wanted to address it for ideas and to show some appreciation for current staff that are stepping up.

Anyone interested in a part-time summer position or help to clean the shelter house can contact anyone at Lake View City Hall at 712-657-2634 or email at info@lakeviewlifestyle.com.
