Iowa Fuel Report: Feb. 4, 2025

Fuel prices in the state were down slightly in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Feb. 4, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.50, down five cents from last week and 39 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average trended higher by one cent to $2.89 per gallon. As for Iowa retail diesel, state prices fell three cents to $3.37 per gallon, five cents below 2025’s average at this point in the year. At the Des Moines Terminal, E10 was $1.65, Unleaded 87 was $1.88, ULSD #2 was $2.34, ULSD #1 was $2.66, and E70 stood at $1.74. Turning to heating fuels, propane prices were up three cents to $1.62 per gallon, while home heating oil rose eight cents to $2.92 per gallon. Natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site were down $1.02 to $3.85 per MMBtu.
