St. Anthony Foundation has opened applications for its 2026 health care scholarships, offering awards to local students pursuing careers in a health-related field. Scholarships range from $600 to $5,000 and include new opportunities for students pursuing degrees in hospital spiritual care studies, as well as three $5,000 scholarships for those pursuing education in behavioral health. All scholarships are supported by families and donors across the St. Anthony Regional Hospital service area in west central Iowa. Foundation Director Sarah Foley says, “We are proud to support students pursuing careers in healthcare, with the hope that they will return to St. Anthony to practice and build long-term careers. These scholarships have a profound impact, creating a legacy of care. Over the decades, we’ve seen recipients graduate, come back to work at St. Anthony, and even have their children apply for scholarships. It’s truly inspiring.” In 2025, the foundation awarded 40 scholarships totaling more than $60,000. Applicants need to submit only one application to be considered for all foundation-managed scholarships. Applications and guidelines are available through counseling offices at many area high schools and community colleges, including Carroll, Kuemper Catholic, IKM-Manning, Denison, DMACC, and others. Completed applications must be received by March 27, 2026. Scholarship recipients will be announced in May.
