The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) announced over the weekend that it will be making two stops in the listening area during the 53rd celebration of the famous biking event. This year will feature the shortest route in RAGBRAI history of 391.4 miles, and begin in Onawa on July 18, stopping in Harlan and Guthrie Center on day one and two (July 19 and 20) The biking caravan will continue east, making stops in Boone, Marshalltown, Independence, Dyersville before ending on July 25 in Dubuque. While no plans have officially been announced yet, both Harlan and Guthrie Center officials say big things are planned and a committee will be releasing information in the next coming weeks.
