A Vail man was taken into custody last week on allegations of sexual misconduct with a juvenile. According to Carroll County District Court records, the Carroll Police Department arrested 22-year-old Marvin Loarca of Vail on Thursday and booked him into the Carroll County Jail on charges of third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony. Authorities say Loarca engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old female victim on Jan. 5 at a residence in the 900 block of E. Highway 30 in Carroll. Officials specifically mentioned the four-year age gap between the victim and Loarca. A class C felony in Iowa carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison and nearly $14,000 in fines.
