The Westside Fire Department is kicking off a new fundraising event on Valentine’s Day involving beverages, pizza and puzzles. Starting at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Westside Community Building, teams of four will race to finish a 12 pack of various beverages, a large pizza and a 500-piece puzzle with the top three teams with the fastest time earning prizes. Those interested need to register by contacting Chris Merrit with the following information: team captain, team name, registration fee of $100 per team and preferred choices for pizza and beverages. Registration is due by Wednesday Jan. 28, with directions on how to sign up are included below. All proceeds will go to the Westside Fire Department for additional training opportunities and updated gear. Again, the Westside Fire Department welcomes all to build your team and test your skills on eating, drinking and puzzles this year for Valentine’s Day with the first “Beer, Pizza and Puzzle” night.
