The South Central Calhoun (SCC) Community School District School Board held discussions with DLR Architect Firm to establish a long-term master facility’s plan. Superintendent Brad Anderson says conversations were had in the past as ways to improve buildings in a hope to increase enrollment numbers throughout the district. Anderson says DLR was hired in September of 2025 to review priorities that administration and previous board members established a few years ago and create plans on proposed projects to address the concerns identified.
DLR explored several options, including the building of a new elementary school. Discussions on that were brief however, as Anderson says a new building at this point was not feasible, but wanted all options to be laid out on the table. He says the elementary building was chosen not for a particular reason.
Anderson says no official decisions have been made as to what projects will be completed and when at this point, but the school board will continue to have discussions with DLR to determine the next steps and the best way to proceed that will benefit both the district while being financially responsible with taxpayer funding.
