Manson Woman Sentenced To Five Years On Federal Drug Charges For Distributing Three Pounds Of Methamphetamine

U.S.-Federal-District-Court-Indictment

A Manson woman was sentenced to five years in federal prison yesterday (Wednesday) for methamphetamine distribution conspiracy in the Fort Dodge area. According to court documents from the U.S District Court for the Northern District of Iowa, 43-year-old Starr Ledford from Manson and Atlantic pled guilty on July 22, 2025 in federal court for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine from January 2024 through May 2024. Ledford and others were involved in a distribution scheme of at least three pounds of pure methamphetamine, with Ledford distributing more than 300 grams on two occasions to individuals who were working with law enforcement. It was discovered that Ledford obtained methamphetamine multiple times from her supply source in Omaha, around half a pound, after investigators conducted surveillance of her. Ledford was sentenced to 60 months in a federal prison, and ordered to three years of supervision following her release. There is no parole in the federal system. Ledford remains in U.S Marshal’s custody until she can be transported to a federal prison to begin her sentencing.
