Jaydon Maschke-Housken of Lake City

Jaydon Maschke-Housken, age 23, of Lake City, IA, tragically passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026.  Jaydon Scott was born on October 21, 2002, to parents Scott and Heather (Makinson) Housken in Fort Dodge, IA.  He grew up in Lake City, where he was baptized at the Union Church, attended elementary school in Lohrville, IA, and graduated from South Central Calhoun High School in 2021.  During his high school years, Jaydon enjoyed participating in wrestling and football.  He spent many hours trying to teach his sister wrestling techniques.  You could also find him skateboarding and doing backflips at random places.

On September 23, 2023, Jaydon was united in marriage to Addison Wiskus.  They were blessed with two children: Cole and Paige.  Jaydon worked for Brock Anderson as a construction laborer and farm hand.  He enjoyed the farm life, going fishing, and driving the loudest and biggest truck in town.  Jaydon collected Hot-Wheels cars and grew to love the hobby of leatherwork, becoming very good at it.  He had a love for the 80’s and 90’s country clothes and was often seen wearing his big belt buckle, jeans, button-down, cowboy boots, and a hat.  Also recently seen sporting a mullet, matching his son, Cole.

Jaydon was also a gamer and liked the game FiveM, an online game he played with his brother, Landon.  Most of all, Jaydon was a loving husband and father and cherished his time spent with his kids, wife, and close family.  He will forever be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Addison Housken of Lake City, IA; children: Cole and Paige Housken; mother Heather and step-father Michael Maschke; siblings: Brandon (Cassie) Makinson, Landon (Jenna) Makinson, Brody Housken, and Quinn Maschke; siblings- in-law: Austin Wiskus, Cortnee Janssen and Brylee Janssen; brothers from other mothers: Dom, Jordan, and Shane; nieces and nephews: Mac and Drew Makinson and Ady, Nali, and Lincoln Makinson; parents-in-law Zach and Shaleena Janssen; God Father Josh McChesney; Dave and Shirley, Diane Campbell, Susie and Willy, and Gail and Patrick; several other extended family members and many friends.

Jaydon was preceded in death by his father, Scott; sister, Brandi; Pa (Zach); and many other loved ones.

Celebration of Life Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, at the Lampe and Powers Funeral Home with a Sharing of Memories at 6:30 pm.
