A Carroll woman has been charged for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from a dependent adult over the course of several years. According to affidavits filed in Carroll County District Court by the Carroll Police Department, 47-year-old Heather Alyssa Edwards faces two class D felony counts: dependent adult abuse and first-offense exploitation of an older individual. Authorities say an investigation found Edwards had used the victim’s credit cards and bank accounts for personal gain, totaling at least $1,500 between Jan. 1, 2023, and Nov. 30, 2025. Edwards is scheduled to make an initial court appearance to answer to the charges on Feb. 5 at the Carroll County Courthouse.
