An Odebolt woman was taken into custody after allegedly threatening individuals for money and pandering prostitution of a daycare worker.  According to online court records, 47-year-old Kristal Miller was taken into custody on Dec. 31, 2025 on an arrest warrant where authorities say she was reported to threaten individuals at a convenience store in Aurelia. On Dec. 18, 2025, Miller allegedly approached employees at the store, demanding for money claiming she was being sought out by the FBI. In the report, it states that she threatened to kill anyone who contacted law enforcement and that she would strangle an employee after refusing to assist her. Less than an hour later, law enforcement say she approached an employee of a local daycare, asking for money and made statements that the woman should leave her boyfriend and they would both be paid. When the employee refused, Miller allegedly became verbal aggressive, threatening to take her away in the employee’s car. Miller remains in custody in the Cherokee County Jail on a $5,000 cash-only bond, and is facing one count of pandering for prostitution, a class D felony, and two counts of first-degree harassment, aggravated misdemeanors. An arraignment hearing is scheduled for Jan. 20. If convicted, Miller can face a maximum sentence of up to 9 years in prison and over $27,000 in fines.
