Sharon Johnson of Jefferson

A Public Committal Service for 83-year-old, Sharon Ann Johnson of Jefferson will be held at 11am on Friday, March 13th at the Jefferson Cemetery in Jefferson, Iowa with a luncheon to be held for family and friends at 1pm at Kruger Shelter House in Glidden, Iowa.

Sharon died Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Accura HealthCare of Lake City with family by her side. Private family services will be held at a later date with inurnment at the Jefferson City Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.

Sharon was born September 17, 1942, in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Herman D. and Mary S. (Conroy) Coellner. She attended country school. Sharon was united in marriage to Bobby Dale Johnson on March 3, 1968, at Central Christian Church in Jefferson. Sharon was a cook and worked at the Iowa State Fraternity House as the “House Mother”. She loved family gatherings – especially Christmas. She also enjoyed country music, dancing, playing cards, BINGO, reading, baking, camping, horse shows, rodeos, going to the Iowa State Fair and showing rabbits. She was a member of 4-H.

Sharon is survived by 4 children: Stephen W. Custer and significant other: Vicki of Reeds Spring, MO, Sheryl A. Zimmerman and husband Doug of Carroll, IA, Laura J. Wine and husband Jeff of Lake City, IA and Thomas Eugene Moore and wife Viki of Fayetteville, NC; 12 grandchildren: Dale Zimmerman, Bradley Zimmerman, Jennifer Custer, Irenie “Renie” Osterlund, Colton Turnas, Shane Coil, Stefanie Coil, Crystal Beyers, Angel Hicks, Blake Murphy, Jennifer Lundgren and Melissa Hudson; and numerous great grandchildren & great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1984; 2 daughters: Rhonda J. Coil and Lisa A. Coellner; 2 grandsons: Dimitrios Turnas and Jake Wine; and 3 siblings: Herman J. “Jerry” Coellner, Marilyn J. Leiss and Kathryn “Kay” Hayes.
