The Carroll branch of Van Meter Inc. recently donated $10,000 to St. Anthony Regional Hospital and the St. Anthony Foundation to support cancer care initiatives. Staff presented a check to hospital representatives on Dec. 23, and the donation will assist in funding the installation of a PET/CT scanner, which is scheduled to go in by mid-summer. The scanner will aid in early cancer detection and diagnosis and also serve as a backup CT scanner, allowing patients to receive advanced imaging services closer to home. Part of Van Meter’s gift will also support Meals of Hope, a donor-funded program that provides nutritious, balanced meals to cancer patients following treatment. The initiative is based on the role proper nutrition plays in recovery and overall wellness during cancer care. Foundation Director Sarah Foley says, “The generosity of Van Meter Inc. directly impacts our ability to care for patients when they need it most. Their support strengthens both our technology and the compassionate services we provide.” Hospital officials thanked Van Meter Inc. and its Carroll team for their commitment to strengthening cancer care services for patients and families in the community.
