The Birth Place at St. Anthony Regional Hospital had a busy year, welcoming over 400 babies into the world in 2025. Throughout the year, staff at the Birth Place delivered 403 babies, 194 boys and 217 girls which included eight sets of twins. The biggest baby weighed 10 pounds and three ounces, with the smallest at exactly five pounds. Families chose the Birth Place from 12 counties, including Audubon, Buena Vista, Crawford, Greene, Guthrie, Ida, Monona, Pocahontas, Sac, and Shelby Counties aside from Carroll County. The busiest week for the department was May 19 through the 26, with 25 babies born in seven days with one day alone having nine deliveries. It was a four-way tie between the most popular names, with Cohen and Beckett for boys and Evelyn and Emerson for girls. The first baby of the new year was a baby boy born at 12:33 a.m., weighing eight pounds exactly and 19 inches long.
